In Dubai, they love breaking records, and everything is made on a big scale. The world's deepest swimming pool, the world's tallest building, the world's most luxurious hotel, the world's largest photo frame, the world's highest restaurant, the biggest and most fabulous fountain show, and the fastest roller coaster are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Dubai.
If you go on the Ain Dubai Ferris wheel, suddenly the iconic Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Palm Island, and the Dubai Marina are at your feet, the size of ants far below you. It can give you the feeling of bringing together the past, present, and future of the city in one breathtaking postcard image. Passengers can contemplate Dubai from a bird's eye view while enjoying an unforgettable experience.
Ain Dubai Facts and Figures
At more than 250 meters (820 feet) high, Ain Dubai is the largest Ferris wheel in the world, followed by the High Roller in Las Vegas, at 167 meters (550 feet), the Singapore Flyer, at 165 meters (540 feet), and The London Eye, at 135 meters (443 feet).
To give you an idea of just how massive the Ain Dubai Ferris wheel is compared to others around the world, think that only the legs that support the Ain Dubai are 126 meters (413 feet) high, almost as high as the entire London Eye.
The Ain Dubai does 38-minute-long rides and weighs the equivalent of sixteen Airbus A380 planes.
Each of the cables supporting the wheel weigh 5 tons and measure the length of an entire professional soccer field. In turn, each cable is made up of a network of cables that, if spread out in a straight line, would reach a length of 2,400 kilometers (1,500 miles).
More than 9,000 tons of steel were used to build the Dubai Ferris wheel (25% more than what was used during the construction of the Eiffel Tower).
All Aboard the Ain Dubai!
It goes without saying that the Ain Dubai is no ordinary Ferris wheel. It has a total of 48 massive passenger cabins, each with a total area of 30 square meters (322 square feet). There are different types of cabins that you'll be able to choose between if you decide to ride the Ferris wheel during your stay in Dubai:
- Observation cabins. Ideal for tourists "on foot", this option allows you to enjoy the spectacular 360-degree views that surround Bluewaters Island, the incomparable skyline of Dubai, and the iconic Jumeirah Palm.
- Social cabins. Ideal for those who want to enjoy an exclusive experience without having to spend too much money, these cabins feature a small bar with drinks included to enjoy the views with something a little extra.
- VIP cabins. The luxury and opulence of Dubai come to life once again in the most exclusive cabins of Ain Dubai, where the limit is only set by customers' imaginations and wallets. VIP cabins can be booked for dinners, birthdays, or any other private event.
The social cabins and VIP cabins offer access to Ain Dubai's Seaview Lounge, a space located at the base of the wheel where guests can wait their turn while relaxing.
